Bloody big Bruce Lee

Street promotion for Gymbox in Holborn, London circa 2008. Oh how the commuters hated it!

Lancaster Town Hall

Off to Lancaster with Matt Barnard and Jon Hicks. A fund-raiser for The Dukes Theatre which is a fabulous venue with a cash-flow crisis. Arts Council failing to support decent local theatre hubs, once again.

As well as the mightily reduced Slightly Fat crew, we are on the bill with Sue McCormick and Cherylee Houston (off of Corrie on the TV!), who was a youth group member and now a local celebrity.

Hoping to raise as much money as is humanly possible for one the most supportive and friendly theatres I have come across in the last few years. Slightly Fat Features will be returning to The Dukes this christmas for a festive cabaret. 15-17 December.

Who is Gareth Jones???

A versatile performer who has worked in the cabaret and street theatre world since 1991, Gareth started his career on the famous cobbles of Covent Garden.

Having trained in physical theatre with Dean Mark, the duo worked from 1991-95 under the banner of The Red Hot Theatre Company and performed award-winning comedic versions of ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Shaft’.
Amongst numerous stage projects, Gareth worked with Performance Theatre Company from 1995 – 98 to critical acclaim portraying Harpo Marx (A Night at the Revolution) and Achilles (The Odyssey). This year Gareth appeared as himself in ‘60x60’ at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London.

With a number of TV credits to his name, Gareth was also a cast member in the award winning Dr Who radio special ‘A Death Comes to Time’ alongside Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Stephen Fry and John Sessions.
Gareth can be heard with more theatrical celebrities in the acclaimed online audio drama ‘Minister of Chance’.

Gareth has undertaken mammoth ‘skin’ work, primarily as a 9ft tall ‘roboid’ in the CBBC game-show/drama ‘Mission: 2110’.

Gareth enjoys new, exciting and diverse work; he has been a long running member of the commissioned artist’s team at The Shrewsbury International Street Theatre Festival. Some memorable performances include ‘Medieval Whores’ and ‘The Torture Tour’, both site-specific one off creations in collaboration with artists from across Europe.
